Pogonognathellus longicornis, longicornis

Pogonognathellus longicornis

Class: COLLEMBOLA Lubbock, 1870
Order: ENTOMOBRYOMORPHA Börner, 1913
family: Tomoceridae Schäffer, 1896
Species: Pogonognathellus longicornis (Müller, 1776) Common.

A truly striking appearance under the springtails. The antennas are so long that they stick out far for the body and so not may be mixed up with a single species. Afther all, of course, an animal with aborted antennas is not distinguishable from P. flavescens.
Species that can be confused with it: Pogonognathellus flavescens.
