Dicyrtomina minuta, information

Dicyrtomina minuta

Class COLLEMBOLA Lubbock, 1870
Order SYMPHYPLEONA Börner, 1901
Family: Dicyrtomidae Börner, 1906
Species: Dicyrtomina minuta (O. Fabricius, 1783) Moderately common.

Although declared as moderately common, I do find this species not often. It is sometimes very hard to see either you have a D. minuta or a light colored D. ornata. For minuta applies that there are no coloured spots on the back. Furthermore, I have the impression that the antennas resemble those of D. saundersi, but I did not find it anywhere else.
Species that can be confused with it are: Dicyrtomina ornata and Dicyrtomina saundersi.
